GENERAL RULES: The games to be played for the most part will consist of two 10 minute halves of questions being offered as read by a moderator, with persons from two teams of up to 4 persons each having the ability to use a lock-out buzzer system (without conferring with each other) to submit their answer. Only one response will be allowed for this "tossup" question per team, and if the team member interrupts the reading of a question and does not get the correct answer, the team will receive a five point penalty. Tossup questions usually require a short response, and they must be spoken in a reasonable time after buzzing as determined by the judges at hand. A correct response gains ten points and the chance to answer a bonus question offered to the team to confer on and come up with an answer. Bonus questions are multiple-part questions of which the total available value is 30 to 40 points. Time will be stopped during taped audio or video bonus reference material. After each bonus question, the play reverts to tossup questions until one is answered correctly, resulting in another bonus, etc. Any tossup question can be buzzed for up until the end of the half and then answered beyond the time limit, and a Bonus question completely asked before time expires may also accept response beyond the time limit.

... there should only be tossup questions
... there should only be tossup questions in the second half of a game that is run with bonus questions during the first half
... there should only be a set number of questions available rather than using a clock
... one tossup question should be asked in order without buzzer to each person in order at the start of the half, (alternating teams), in their stated area of expertise. If the question is missed, any person on the other team can buzz in to answer. No bonuses until after a total of 8 questions, when all tossups to be buzzed for.
